Even Mario Kart 8 and Hyrule Warriors were the same price as in shops, and that is before you factor in trade in value of a physical game. Call me naive but I thought the idea of digital games was to keep distribution costs down? FIFA 13 is 69.99, widely available in shops for 15. Just as an example (these prices are in euros as I live in Spain) NBA 2K13 is 59.99, in my local GAME it’s 4.95.
I took my Wii U online for the first time after reading about the Mario Kart 8 downloadable content, and while I was on the eShop I had a good look around and was amazed at the prices they are charging for retail games you can buy in shops. I have enjoyed reading your site for a number of years, but have never written in before, but now feel compelled to after what I saw at the weekend.
We’re not sure what we’d name, maybe Shadows Of The Damned and Metroid: Other M? GC: Well, we had best surprises of the last gen back in March so we suppose we should do this too at some point. Personally, Zelda: Skyward Sword didn’t hit the heights I expected of it. I remember some friends being ridiculously excited for Ghostbusters, and feeling severely deflated upon playing it. Not sure if this has been done yet, but now that the next gen is established as the current gen I wondered what people’s biggest disappointments were in the last gen – Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, DS, and PSP. The Legend Of Korra is out today, and we’ll try and get a review done before the end of the week. GC: There’s always a chance, but with the breaking up of developer Criterion we’d be very surprised if there was ever another proper Burnout. I loved the online features and challenges of it so much, and just the game in general. This was while we were playing Forza Horizon 2. I just wanted to echo the other chap who mentioned the sad demise of Burnout… I loved Paradise so much, and was just the other day talking to a guy online (whom I met while playing Burnout Paradise six years ago) how much we both missed it.
